3 Home Office Décor Ideas
I’ve chosen three different styles of home office décor ideas for you to choose from. Mix and match these items (they all work together) according to your needs and personal preference to design a home office space that you relish being in.
The Soft White Look
If your style is neutral and understated yet classic, then a soft white home office look will be ideal.
Start off with a white and gold oval office desk either placed against a wall or in a corner. Pair this contemporary desk with a white and gold leather soft swivel chair draped with a luxury soft faux sheepskin chair cover for extra comfort. Alternatively, you could opt for a white and gold accent chair with white faux fur already included.
Add extra warmth to your home office space by laying down a versatile but lavish rug. This look can be complemented with either an ivory rose oriental distressed area rug, a cheekier black, and white stripe area rug, or an ivory blush abstract brushstroke area rug.
Place a pretty desk lamp on your work table to ensure you have enough light to work by. A brass mid-century modern adjustable desk lamp or a white shade and gold hollowed-out base modern table lamp would fit well with your look.
Complete your look by adding some practical accessories for organization, such as a white round metal wastebasket, a beautiful gold desk organizer, a cute gold 5-piece office supplies set, or a gold-framed linen fabric pinboard.
The Blush Look
If you prefer a more feminine look for your workspace, then this light pink-blush look will definitely appeal to you.
Begin with a neutral base such as this sleek, glossy white and gold computer desk with two front drawers. Pair it with a fashionably chic pearl blush velvet swivel chair draped with a pink faux fur sheepskin fluffy chair cover for extra comfort.
Complement this style by adding either an ivory rose oriental distressed area rug or an ivory blush abstract brushstroke area rug to your office space. Add light with a white shade and gold hollowed out base modern table lamp, a glam crystal, and pink LED table lamp, or perhaps even a pink and gold semi drum ceiling light.
Finally, finish off this look by including some useful items such as this small blush pink rectangular wastebasket or even a matte brass metallic trash can. Also, some organizational tools such as a light pink desk organizer or a gold and pink marble pencil holder to keep your office supplies together. You can even use a blush marble file folder set or a colorful marble-look hanging file folder set to completely coordinate your home office look.
The Black, Gold & Blush Mixed Look
If you like an edgier look for your home office then you may consider combining black and white or black and gold. You can even include a shade of blush pink to soften the overall look.
Select a sophisticated black and gold writing desk with drawers as your main focal point for this style. Then, pair it with either a black and gold mid-century modern bucket chair, a white and black mid-century modern bucket chair, or a white and black faux leather modern scoop chair depending on the color combination you prefer. Add a splash of color and luxurious comfort by draping a pink faux fur sheepskin fluffy chair cover over either chair.
Lay down a black and white stripe area rug or step up the luxury feel of your home office space by opting for a spreading out a gorgeous black and white frosted tips premium faux fur shag carpet. Use your lighting to add a pop of pink to your black and white or black and gold color palette. Choose either the glam crystal and pink LED table lamp, a black LED desk lamp with USB charging port, or a black and gold dots stick table lamp if it suits your style better.
Round out your overall look by selecting some useful organizational products to help you keep your workspace neat and tidy. Some terrific options are a black wood modern wastebasket or a matte brass metallic trash can to keep trash off your work area. Also, the lovely gold 5-piece office supplies set or even the smaller black mesh desk organizer to ensure all your supplies have a dedicated place. A black and gold foldable file holder is also extremely useful for organizing important files that you need nearby.

Some beautiful ideas here to get started creating a home office! While I am not a girly girly kind of girl, I like a bit more rustic, classic look, I did like the soft white look as you can mix in just about anything to make it YOU. Great blog!
Lisa,
Everyone has their own style, color preferences and taste. As long as your home office becomes a space where you love going to and spending time, that’s what’s most important
Wow, I think I like all three! My office is mostly a niche in my kitchen these days, since my husband started working from home. Alas, a girl can still dream!
Seana,
From what I’ve seen, a lot of really good work has come out of your kitchen office. Since so many women are now working from home, I thought I would create something for those who are thinking of a change.
It’s all about possibilities.
This is so funny, Ronni. As I read each description and then looked at the photos, I kept thinking, “Oh, this must be what Ronni’s office looks like.” And then, in the end, you said that ALL THREE were your favorite styles. They are gorgeous, and I can see you working and enjoying each of the spaces you shared with us. What great product finds too!
For so many years, I had an office space that was less than adequate. It was a mish-mosh of furniture, things were not ergonomically designed, I didn’t have the proper space to do what I needed or storage for the items that I used. It took a lot of years, but it was worth the wait. Steve (my husband) helped me design and build an “Oh, So Linda Space.” It makes such a difference with how I work and how I feel when I’m working. While I did a total redesign and build, it’s possible to create an environment from pre-made pieces, as you’ve so beautifully shown.
Linda,
When I think of my home offices over the years, they have always included off-white or cream. I find it’s so calming.
Here, I wanted to create three very different looks- clean/soft,feminine and edgy, that I find so appealing and I hope others will too.
I have also had built-ins as well as freestanding furniture which worked really well. Our styles may change or evolve over the years. This is a fun way to express who we are. It’s all good.
Those are lovely palettes. I’m more of a seafoam and cream sort of girl but I can see some of these accessories working nicely in my home office.
Margarita,
Seafoam and cream creat a soft and elegant look. I love that beautiful pallet as well.
I’d love to see your photo. When you have a moment please send me one.
I love these products! Thank you for inspiring me to make my office especially for me. =)
Sabrina,
These options are stylized and may not work for everyone, but I hope they do provide inspiration.
I love the look of all three of these offices. I think with the growth of working-from-home people will spend more time and money planning their office space. No longer will hand-me-down furniture and an old chair be workable.
The suggestions you made are beautiful. I’d love to work in all of them.
Janet,
Thank you for your lovely comments. I really appreciate it. My inspiration was just what you said. So many people are working from home and will continue. So you might as well love where you’re spending most of your day.
I did pick designs that I love and I’d be happy in all three as well.
Wow, Ronni! I have absolutely no eye for decor; if something functions well, that’s 98% of my list, right there. As long as it’s not lime green or orange (basically, no sherbet colors), that hits my other 2%. I usually say, it’s not that I have bad taste, I just have no taste! So, you putting together these three styles is pretty fascinating, but mostly, I can’t take my eyes off the fuzzy faux fur options.
(Seriously, all that white furniture just makes me itchy. How do you not live in constant fear that you’ll drop your pen?)
Yes,the images here are beautiful. But it’s not always about form over function. Because if it doesn’t work, who needs it? ( I totally get where you’re coming from and why function is a priority.) When form and function meet, you’ve got a winner. Most all of these products are low maintenance, believe it or not, and easy to wipe clean.
I was drawn to the shapes. I like that many are priced well and if a pen has the nerve to drop on something white, I do have a hack for that one.
I love showing imagination and possibilities and then the rest is up up to the readers.😃
So inspiring, Ronni! Love the options you chose – if a space is beautiful as well as functional, that’s such a win.
Lucy,
You can’t beat beautiful and functional. It always comes out on top. I’m so happy you were inspired. Just think of all the possibilities. They’re endless.
